Election of the GSB takes place every three years. Members of GSB are elected by Members of GLOBELICS  through online voting. The GLOBELICS Secretariat implements the election procedure. To create election outcomes that are diverse in terms of nationality and gender each candidate will appear on one out of five lists. 18 candidates will be elected from four lists for Africa, Asia, America and Europe and two candidates will be elected from a list of alumni of GLOBELICS  Academies. In each category, 50% will be women.

The election will result in a board with the following composition (with equal numbers of male and female members in each category).
